I had been shooting landscapes as a traveler for ten years before I considered buying my first kit. I started off with the cheapest point and shoot cameras I could find and stayed with them for years. In 2014 that changed thanks to two friends Jehan Ara and Zafar Khan.

Jehan got me hooked on DSLRs and made me pick up my first proper lens. Zafar Khan gave all of us a serious case of lens envy and showed us the one parameter to focus on when buying lenses.

The collection here comes from a combination of cameras. Most of the early work is courtesy of Lumix and  Sony point and shoot. Everything post 2014 is from a Canon 70D, other than a few Nexus 5 frames, shot from moving vans and vehicles. The three lenses used on the 70D were the 18-135mm, the 55-250mm and the 100-400mm.

The really good stuff, if you can tell, is from the L lens. Wasn’t sure if the lens would be worthy of the load on the wallet. It was. If you are sitting on the fence, get off the fence and buy it.
